Balance in Challenge is a highly personalised 8-day workshop designed to help you cultivate clear presence, ease of movement and freedom of expression in life, on stage or on the dance floor. This is a chance to get down to the nuts and bolts of how you move, breathe and connect to the world, and make profound changes that will effect your performance in every area of your life.

Come prepared to play at your own ‘edges’, the places just on the borders of your comfort zone, and expand your experience of living.

Balance in Challenge is designed for people from all walks of life who are interested in the relationship between movement, health and expression. All ages and levels of experience welcome.

Jeanine and Peter have been teaching this unique work for over 10 years and are ready to dive in with you exactly where you are.

8 days of intensive training in a small group with a lot of private attention and personal feedback (maximum 10 participants with 2 teachers present for all classes).

Three private Alexander Technique lessons where we will work with you to achieve a dynamic state of poise by quieting extra tension and expanding your awareness of your own movement.

30 hours of group classes where we will explore exercises from dance, physical theatre, clowning and martial arts. Within this playground, we will observe how each of our ways of moving affects everything that we do. We will challenge you to keep breathing, stay grounded and respond with ease in many situations.

Peter Sweet

Peter Sweet (San Francisco/Berlin) has spent more than a decade in full time movement training as part of his work as a professional circus, dance and theater performer.

Along with his 3 year education in the Alexander Technique, he attended dance conservatory at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD), went to circus school at the Ecole du Cirque Zofy in Sion Switzerland and studied movement based theater at the Helikos School for theater creation.

He is also a certified instructor of the Wutao Breath and movement system. Peter learned to dance by jumping from rock to rock in the river as a young boy. Since then he has trained a lot, but has always held on to this playful, spontaneous approach to movement in his dancing and teaching.

Jeanine Ebnöther Trott

Jeanine grew up in Switzerland. After graduating from ESAC Circus School in Brussels in 2005, she toured across Europe, India and Australia to perform and teach. In 2010 she co-founded Aromatic Company, a performance duo that combined juggling skills, physical theater and live music.

Fascinated by the human being and the mysteries of its functioning, Jeanine continued her training: in 2013, she certified as a teacher of the F.M. Alexander Technique and in 2016 she became an instructor of the breath-undulation practice "Wutao".

After two seasons with "Zirkus Chnopf" and the physical research project "décorps d'intérieur" with Ana Jordao (shortlisted in the Circus Next platform), she went on to create her first full solo show dance me to the ball that premièred in 2020

Jeanine began assisting in Peter Sweet's intensive program "Balance in Challenge" in 2006. She worked with him to develop this unique program and became a full-power co-teacher in 2013.
